State Grants
Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency State Grant-This state-funded program requires that you file the FAFSA.  Also, you must be a Pennsylvania resident (for at least the preceding 12 months) and you must be a half-time student (6 or more credits/semester).  The grants range between $100 and $3,300 (amounts change annually) per academic year, and are based on financial need.

Special Scholarships
Special Scholarships-Some organizations in the community offer scholarships to students with certain majors, continuing education status, or special ethnic representation.  A booklet listing these scholarships is available in the SFS Office for browsing.

Application
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the primary means of applying for aid.  This application serves as the required form for all Federal and State financial aid programs. It should be filed before May 1 for aid in the following fall.  In addition, the SFS Office will need a completed Evening Student Application, Institutional Verification Form, and copies of previous year tax returns and W2 forms.  All forms are available in the SFS Office. In order to be considered for the Charlotte Newcombe Scholarship Grant, follow the guidelines as noted for that program.  The Stafford Loan has a separate application form obtained from the lender bank or the SFS Office.  Application for aid generally takes 4 to 6 weeks to process and must be made every year of attendance.Financial Aid

Transcripts
Financial Aid Transcripts-If you have attended college prior to coming to Ursinus, you must request a Financial Aid Transcript (a statement itemizing your financial aid history) from each former college.  This is a requirement, whether or not you had aid at the prior institution(s).  These forms are available in the SFS Office, and must be completed by you and your former college.

Satisfactory Progress
All students who receive financial assistance must maintain satisfactory academic progress as determined by College policy.  For details, request the Satisfactory Progress Guidelines from the SFS Office.
